Old Canberran’s Hockey Club (OCHC) has a long and proud association with
Pat O’Connor, and his not-for-profit organisation LIVIN FOR HOCKEY (LIVIN). OCHC are delighted to support the promotion of their new program.
LIVIN is a concept that was brought to life by a group of past and current hockey players. The primary focus of LIVIN is to encourage people of all ages to develop better physical and mental health through playing hockey, and to demonstrate the positive benefits playing hockey can have on the mental health of participants.
LIVIN has established the LIVIN for Hockey Pathways Program. The program has been set up for young people aged between 10 and 19 years, who would be interested in playing hockey but cannot afford to do so. LIVIN, through this new program, want to remove the financial obstacles and get these young people on the pitch.
OCHC is a welcoming and inclusive family club. Our mission includes the promotion of participation in the game of hockey. OCHC would welcome new members to the club through the LIVIN for Hockey Pathways Program participation.
However, such is the strength of the club’s belief in the positive benefits to be gained through the program, the endorsement of OCHC is unconditional. OCHC would be delighted to see players take the opportunity to join the hockey family through this program, irrespective of which new hockey club is ultimately chosen.
